Un-spolit Greece – Off the Beaten Track

Finikia village is one of the few villages in Santorini that through years, has been able to retain its unique character, offering to its guests, a colorful canvas of traditional architecture, winding streets, Aegean blues and endless rows of grape vines.

Just a 15 minute walk from the center of Oia where you can go to enjoy the world famous Santorinian sunset, have a walk in its pirate alleys and enjoy shopping and a relaxing nightlife scene. Ammoudi bay, for the seafood lovers, is 2.5 kilometers away and a guaranteed location for Greek dishes and a glass of ouzo. Scheduled Bus Service is available on the main road 50 meters from the hotel, and parking is available opposite the main road, again 100 meters away, for those preferring to rent a car or quad bike to explore as much of the island as possible.

When seeing the views of the Aegean the first feeling is a lust for dipping your toes in it. You may either walk to the closest beach which is less than 1km. By car or bus you may also visit the famous black beaches of Perissa, Perivolos and Kamari and the red beach of Akrotiri.

From any of these beaches you may also jump on a boat and go for a swim in the White beach which is only accessible by sea.

Santorini port and airport are approximately 9 kilometers away and a half hour drive, depending on traffic.

The most important date for Finikia is the 20th of October, which celebrates the church of Panagia Matrona, the most important religious festivity in Santorini.

In the authentic chapel, located in walking distance from Sophia Boutique Hotel, with its characteristic palm tree in the courtyard, a festival full of traditional Greek dancing, folk music and Santorini flavors, takes place every year. If you are in Santorini during that time, this is an experience not to be missed.
